The choices of War
War is about a choice. It usually goes something like this: Is it better for millions to live in opression, or is it better for tens of thousands to die in the fight for freedom? Which is it? I don’t know the answer, and I hope I personally never have to find out. I think that there is a line that has to be crossed in order for a person to consider it better to die for their cause than to live in opression, and the placement of that line is different for everyone. When you cross the line for enough people, they rise up and fight for their freedom. I think that is what happened in Israel now, too many lines were crossed. I hope and pray that never happens here. I hope we never again have to pay the cost in lives that freedom sometimes requires, I hope that we learned that lesson already. I hope that we can turn back the tsunami of our government before too many lines are washed away.
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
