Teen loses fight to use alternative cancer treatment

CNN.com - Teen loses fight to use alternative cancer treatment - Jul 21, 2006
NORFOLK, Virginia (AP) — A judge ruled Friday that a 16-year-old boy fighting to use alternative treatment for his cancer must report to a hospital by Tuesday and accept treatment that doctors deem necessary, the family’s attorney said.

As I briefly mentioned this story earlier, it would appear that the judge has ruled that they are no longer trying to shove medication down your throat, but they will shove medication down your throat. Thank you social services. If this isn’t the biggest nanny-state ruling I’ve seen in a long time I don’t know what is. A hundred years ago this kid would have been considered an adult, and could have done what he damn well pleased with his life. Now we don’t even give him a choice in how he wants to treat his illness. What’s next, are they going to tell us what kind of TP we have to use to wipe our ass?

[…] Good, we have at least a temporaray reprive to this idiocy.  Hopefully the higher up judges will see the stupidity in this ruling, and will give us back our families.  When did we become a communist state where it is the governments or courts job to figure out what is in the best interest of a child rather than the parents job?
